Abstract

Routine vacuum pre-compacting often can not meet the requirements on the site due to the failure in long-term drainage caused by the blokage of drainage plate or lateral drainage devices. The paper introduces a new type of treatment, that is pressurized vacuum pre-compacting to remedy the mentioned shortcomings. The principles of pressurized vacuum pre-compacting are introduced, key technologies and corresponding materials of the treatment method are described in detail, with corresponding construction control measures and difficulties put forword. The treatment project of soft foundation in Zuhai West station is voted as an example to compare the subsidences caused by two different methods, it has been shown that pressurized vacuum pre-compacting can significantly enhance the subsidence in the pre-consolidation period with good treatment effect acquired for soft foundation.
