Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effect of Salvia miltiorrhiza combined with ligustrazine on oxidative damage in rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. METHODS: 200 Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: sham operation group, model group, 5. Miltiorrhiza group, ligustrazine group and combination of S. Miltiorrhiza and ligustrazine group. The models of cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury model rats were established by the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). The changes of the cerebral ischemic area, the contents of brain wet, calcium, MDA, SOD activity in cerebral tissue were observed in rats after modeling. RESULTS: Compared with sham operation group, cerebral ischemic area of model group increased significantly (P<0.01). Compared with model group, cerebral ischemic area of each medication groups decreased, there was significant difference (P<0.01), especially in combination of S. Miltiorrhiza and ligustrazine group. Compared with sham operation group, the contents of MDA, calcium and brain wet of model group increased significantly (P<0.01) while SOD activity decreased (P< 0.01).Those parameters of each medication groups were significantly lower than model group (P<0.05) , SOD activities of each medication groups were higher than model group(P<0.05),especially in combination of S. Miltiorrhiza and ligustrazine group.CON-CLUSION: The protective effect of S. Miltiorrhiza combined with ligustrazine injection is better than them alone on cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury关键词
