Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of Xiyanping injection in the treatment of infantile pneumonia. METHODS: Electronic databases including Medline(1966-1 - 2009-12) , Embase(1966-1 - 2009.12) , Cochrane Library (2009 No.4), CBMdisc (1978-1-2009-12), CNK.K 1979-1-2009-12), China Science and Technology Periodical Database(1989-1-2009-12), Wanfang database( 1982-1-2009-12) were searched to collect the randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) on Xiyanping injection in the treatment of infantile pneumonia. The quality of included trials was evaluated and Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.0.24 software. RESULTS: A total of 23 RCTs scored C degree, which were lower quality. Results of the meta-analysis showed that compared with control group, Xiyanping injection appeared to be more effective in improving the total effective rate in the treatment of infantile pneumonia. CONCLUSION: Based on currently available low-quality studies, Xiyanping injection is an effective treatment for infantile pneumonia. However, some aspects (sample size, randomized, doubled-blind, etc.) of the included trials remain defect, thus well-designed large-scale and randomized double-blind controlled trials are required.关键词
