摘要

Abstract

Aimed at investigate the motion characteristics of the flow field outside of the nozzle in the mixed water jet shot peening, this paper introduces the simulation of the continuous phase of external flow field of the nozzle in the mixed water jet shot peening by FLUENT software, and offers an analysis of the influence of shot peening pressure and target distance to the axial velocity and axial dynamic pressure of water by using 3D incompressible steady reynolds time-averaged N -S equation for continuous phase and standard k - e turbulent mode for dispersed phase based on the flow characteristics of turbulence in water jet. The simulation concludes that there occurs a significant symmetry between the axial velocity and axial dynamic pressure of water in the external flow field, and the maximum value is found in the centre of axis. The increase in value of axial velocity and axial dynamic pressure depends on the increase in the pressure in shot peening, and varies the increase of the target distance. The pressure of 350 Mpa and the target distance of 50 mm produce the maximum value of axial velocity of 22.0 m/s and the maximum value of axial dynamic pressure of 0. 24 Mpa. The study provides the base for the analysis of motion states of the discrete phase projectile of external flow field.
