Effects of Extended Family Care on Survival Rate of Elderly Patients with Chronic Heart Failure
摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the impact of extended family care on the survival rate of elderly patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods A total of 108 elderly CHF patients were randomly divided into observation group (n=54) and control group (n=54). In observation group, the charge nurses who received professional training were responsible for the nursing of patients and after discharge, there were still telephone follow-ups twice per week and home visit once in two weeks which were conducted by charge nurses but in control group, routine nursing was provided and there was no extended family care from nurses after discharge. A comparison was made of the survival rate of patients in two groups two years after discharge. Results The survival rate of patients in observation group was obviously higher than that in control group (P<0.01). Conclusion Extended family care can not only improve compliance behavior after discharge of elderly CHF patients but improve their quality of life and eventually increase the survival rate.关键词
