Abstract
Objective To study the effect of soy bean isoflavones (SI) on treating menopausal female patients with osteoporosis. Methods Sixty inpatients with osteoporosis were divided into study group and control group at random, each consisting of 30 patients. The study group was treated with SI while the control group was treated with calcium gluconate plus vitamin D. All the patients underwent blood serum biochemistry test and were assessed with a subjective clinical effectiveness questionnaire. Results Both the biochemical variables, including calcium, AIJP, and assessment of clinical effectiveness were statistically better in the study group than that in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusions SI is an ideal and reliable agent for clinical intervention of menopausal female patients with osteoporosis, which deserves wide clinical application.关键词
