Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical and image features of top of the basilar artery syndrome (TOBS). Methods The clinical data of 43 TOBS patients were analyzed retrospectively. Results The clinical manifestations of the patients in this group were unconsciousness (38 cases, 88.4% ), disturbance of eyeballs (31 cases, 72.1% ), abnormality of pupils (28 cases, 65.1% ), and combined with nystagmus, limb paralysis, ataxia, dysarthria, and so on. MRI showed that the infarctions were mostly double (67.4% ) , and the locations of infarction were thalami (65. 1% ), brainstem (60. 5% ), cerebellum (55. 8% ) , occipital (39. 5% ) and medial surface of lobus temporal (14. 0% ). And the "Butterfly like" lesions was 46. 4% of the thalami infarction. Conclusions TOBS has various clinical manifestations. The main symptoms are unconsciousness, disturbance of eyeballs and abnormality of pupils, and always combined with the symptoms of thalamus, cerebellum, medial surface of lobus temporal and lobus occipital infarction. The marked imaging features of TOBS is " Butterfly like" lesions located in double thalami by MRI.关键词
