摘要

Abstract

An RF-optical transceiver module for GSM-R(GSM-rail) standard fiber optic repeater is designed. The automatic power control (APC) technique is used to achieve stable laser power output. The redundancy design technique is adopted in receiver part to meet the high reliability requirements of GSM-R standard. The measurement results show that the reflection loss of light is less than -45 dB. The time delay of receiver is less than 60 ns. The rejection ratio out of band and the fluctuation inside the band are up to 30 dB and less than 0. 5 dB, respectively. The input and output VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) are less than 1.3. The dynamic range of RF output is more than 25 dB with the adjusting accuracy of 1 dB. The noise floor is 132 dBm/Hz and the third-order inter-modulation is below -60 dBc. In addition, the module provides a good function of alarming and fault detection. The measurement results show that the module exhibits outstanding RF and optical performances. The module was verified in a GSM-R repeater and the test results prove that it can fully meet the design requirements of the railway.
