摘要

Abstract

There are too many environmental systems analysis (ESA) tools available for assessing environmental impacts. The paper described some existing tools and discussed some key factors to influent the tool selection. Many of the tools are intended to be used as a support in decision-making. The suggesting key factors are object of study, impacts concerned, world views, values and culture background, and desired information type according to the DPSIR (driving forces, pressure, state, impact and response) model. The environmental impacts of aluminum and magnesium die casting are assessed. And some associated reduction options are analyzed and suggested.
