Abstract
Objective; To observe the effect of YuPingFeng powder on preventing cold and regulating immune balance of the patients with chronic nephritis, to provide a basis for YuPingFeng powder to prevent cold for the patients with chronic nephritis. Methods; 62 cases of chronic nephritis patients, which renal functions range from CKD I to III period, were randomized divided into two groups; the treatment group (n = 31) and the control group (n = 31). These patients were with the pattern of the lung and kidney Qi deficiency, Qi and Yin deficiency. Underlying routine treatment, the control group was given modified LiuWeiDi-Huang pill, and the treated group was given YuPingFeng powder and modified LiuWeiDiHuang pill. Both of them had a therapeutic course for 2 months. Recording the frequency of colds, symptom scores, immunity indexes and renal function. Results; After the treatment, the number of rehabilitation flu in treated group (6cases) was lower than the control group (13cases), the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05); The total effective rates of clinical symptoms in treated group (74. 2% ) was higher than the control group (48.4% ) , the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05) ; total score of clinical symptoms in treated group (15. 16±6. 47points) was lower than the control group (20. 71 ±4. 95points) , the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05). After the treatment, help T cell CD4+in treated group (41.43±7. 06% ) was higher than the control group (35.45 ±8.88%) , the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05); Suppressor T cell CD8+ in treated group (30. 22±5. 61%) was lower than the control group (37. 61 ±8. 91% ), the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 01); CD4VCD8+in treated group (1.44±0.41) was higher than the control group (1.04±0.49) , the difference was statisticallysignificant (P<0. 05). Peripheral blood after treatment, the number of neutrophil in treated group (4. 51 ±2. 17×109/L) was higher than the control group (3. 39±1.42×109 /L) , the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01) ; lymphocytes were no statistically significant between the treated group and the control group (2.04±0. 85×109/L vs 1. 88±0. 66× 109/L, P> 0. 05). The serum creatinine were no statistically significant between the treated group and the control group ( 85. 87 ± 40. 99μmol/l vs 97. 12±57. 70μmol/l, P>0. 05) ; the blood urea nitrogen were no statistically significant between the treated group and the control group (5. 72±3. 00mmol/L vs 6. 12±2. 61mmol/L, P>0. 05). Conclusion; YuPingFeng powder can prevent colds and improve symptoms for chronic nephritis. It can increase the CD4+, CD4VCD8+, neutrophilic granulocyte count, and decrease the number of CD8+.
