Abstract

BACKGROUND: Chitosan (CS) and mesoporo us bioactive glasses (MBG) have some good properties, such as bio com pati bil ity and hemostasis, but the hemostatic effect of CS is limited and it is inconvenient to use the MB<3 directly. OBJECTIVE: To prepare C S/MBG porous filmsMETHODS: CS and MBG porous film was prepared through a freeze drying process. The prepared porous films were characterized by us ing Fourier transform infrared spectres copy, scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. In addtion, water adsorption, swelling ratio, the porosity and the mechanical property of the porous films were also studied. RESLUTS AND CONCLUSION: CS/MBG could be blended homogeneously via the lyophilization. The hole of the porous films was relatively uniform. The porous films showed good water adsorption character, which could be modulated by varying the weight ratio of CS and MBG. The prepared porous films had a higher porosity. The composite films can be potentially applied as a wound dressing material.
