摘要

Abstract

The rapid and intensive development of animal husbandry has increased the emission of methane, which also exerted great effect on greenhouse effect. It has significant meaning to conduct the study on methane mitigation in livestock gastrointestinal tract to realize the aim of energy saving and mitigation of animal husbandry as well as improving animal's production. The article briefly introduced the mechanism of methane formation in gastrointestinal tract and the strategies for reducing methane mitigation, and reviewed the present methods for methane mitigation. Up to date, there are four methods, namely, improving animal productivity, dietary manipulation, micro-flora manipulation and methanogen competing with hydrogen. It is wished that the article will provide a reference for the study in this aspect and introduce a new research direction.
