The calculation of a compressible flow field by using an open source CFD program

Abstract
Based on the open source computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program OpenFOAM, the simulation program of a compressible flow field was developed. A Favre averaged Navier-Stokes control equation in an absolute coordinate system and a standard turbulence model were used. In numerical calculation, the convection term and diffusion term were discretized using a second-order accurate total variation diminishing(TVD) scheme and a second-order central-difference scheme respectively, and then the discretized equations were solved using the SIMPLER (semi-implicit method for pressure-linked equations-revised) method. Results were presented for hump flow through a channel at various Mach numbers and two-dimensional lattice flow with turbulence showing that the program can be effectively used in numerical simulation of a compressible flow field.关键词
