Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of 6% hydroxyethyl starch (HES) 130/0.4 on cytokines of patients with sepsis. METHODS: 40 patients with sepsis were randomly divided into two groups. Group I was administrated with HES at a dose of 20 mL·kg-1 within 1 h after entering the operation room. Group II received the same amount of Compound lactated Ringer's solution (LRS). Blood samples were taken at the following time point: at the time of entering the operation room (To), after drug was infused (T1) and at the end of surgery (T2). The plasma concentration of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were measured by ELISA. RESULTS: Compared with To, the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were lowered significantly at T1 and T2 in group I (P<0.05), while the levels of TNF-a, IL-1β and IL-6 at each time point were not significantly different in group II (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: 6%HES 130/0.4 can inhibit the increase of TNF-α, IL-lβ and IL-6 levels in plasma of patients with sepsis.关键词
