Effects of Erythropoietin on Cardiac Function in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure Accompanied by Anemia
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To explore the efficacy of erythropoietinC EPO) in patients with chronic congestive heart failure(CHF) accompanied by anemia. Methods: A total of 96 patients with CHF accompanied by anemia hospitalized between January 2007 and December 2009 were enrolled. All patients were randomly divided into ecthor the control group (veregiven routine anti-heart failure therapy) ,or the study group (were given anti-heart failure therapy accompany EPO plus oral iron for 2 months). After 6 months follow up, changes of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP), cardiac function classification, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), hemoglobin, readmission for CHF and cardiac death were compared between the two groups. Results: There was significant improvement of BNP, cardiac function classification, LVEF, and hemoglobin in the study group(P<0. 01). In the study group, those parameters were improved compared with the control group(P<0. 01), and significant decrease of readmission for CHF(P<0. 05), But there was no significant difference in cardiac death rate(P>0.05). Conclusions: Treatment of EPO plus oral iron in patients with CHF accompanied by anemia could improve cardiac function, and lower the rate of readmission for CHF.关键词
