Abstract
Objective To investigate the levels of lipoprotein ( a) [ LP ( a) ] and homocysteine ( Hey) in patients with stroke, and to evaluate the value of them in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of stroke. Methods Serum levels of LP(a) and Hey were detected in patients with ischaemic or hemorrhagic stroke. ROC was used to evaluate the roles of LP (a) and Hey in the diagnosis of stroke and the differentiation of ischaemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. Results Serum levels of LP(a) and Hey were up-regulated significantly in patients with stroke than those in controls. The AUCs of LP(a) and Hey for diagnosis of stroke were 0.854 and 0.893, respectively; and those for differential diagnosis of ischaemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke were 0.271 and 0.400, respectively. Conclusions LP(a) and Hey were up-regulated significantly in patients with stroke, and can be used to identify stroke, but they had no prominent role in differentiating ischaemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke.关键词
