Abstract

In allusion to high reflux ratio, high operating pressure, wide range of pressure variety and high purity of product in the gas fractionation unit operation, which cause high energy consumption and low efficiency of the plant, a simulation calculation was carried out for the gas fractionation by using a petrochemical flow simulation software PRO/ Ⅱ. The effects of pressure, feed position, reflux ratio and other parameters on the plant operation and energy consumption were investigated in the precondition of meeting quality requirements (mole fraction 99.5% ). The position and causes of propylene loss were determined, and the optimum conditions were established for plant operation. The results show that in the best conditions the system can save energy 6. 83 x 107 MJ/a, the yield of propylene is increased from 97.49% to 98.58% after optimization. The process is energy-saving, easy to implement and has remarkable economic benefit.
