Abstract

BACKGROUND: Some hemostatic materials applied at present have many shortages, such as toxicity and high cost.OBJECTIVE: To study the biocompatibility of negative pressure adsorption hemostasis application in animals.METHODS: A strip-shaped incision was created in the liver and kidney, 1 cm in length and 0.5 cm in depth. Negative pressure adsorption hemostasis application was used on the wound area of six healthy pigs. General state of the healthy pigs was observed before and after the operation. Blood routine examination, liver and kidney function, body fluid immunology before and 14 days after the operation were detected. Histopathological changes at 14 days were observed.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: There were no significant differences in blood biochemistry and immunology between the two groups (P > 0.05) and the histopathological results did not show any inflammatory reaction in incisions of liver and kidney tissues.There was no inflammation or fibrous tissue envelope. Negative pressure adsorption hemostasis application has good biocompatibility without any toxicity, reject reaction, immunological reaction and anaphylactic response in animals.
