Abstract

LandsatETM and RS images of Meicheng forest-farm in Dongzhi county of Anhui Province in the year of 1999, 2002 and 2006 were used as the main data sources to analyze the landscape pattern of Meicheng forest-farm , along with the data of forest management inventory, 1:10000 sub-compartment topographic map,1:25000 forest form map and the cards of sub-compaitmenl. Based on the remote sensing images that were pretreated with band combination, geometric correction, image fusion etc by Erdas9.0, the forest landscape in different periods were classified and mapped by the method of unsupervised classification. The forest landscape indices were calculated in FRAGSTATS. The dynamic changes in the different periods of forest landscape were analyzed based on the forest landscape indices, which could provide the basis for forest landscape planning. The results shows that the fragmentation of the forest landscape of Meicheng forest-farm gradually reduced from 1999 to 2006, but Pirtus massoniana and Cunnmgkamia lanceolam were still the dominant types in the forest landscape pattern. The area of the broad-leaved forest and the coniferous-broad-leaved mixed forest increased. The shape of the forest landscape was regular and simple. The connectivity of forest landscapes increased.
