Assessment of patients and clients on readability of chinese text of Informed consent for tooth extraction
摘要
Abstract
Objective To assess the affect of text variable on readability of the informed consent for tooth extraction. Methods During dental clinical service,patients or clients have be obligatory to mark a VAS (visual analogue scale) score in which 0 indicated'total incomprehensiveness'and 100'total comprehensiveness'immediately following reading the text items from the informed consent for tooth extraction.Correlations between distinct text items were calculated by Spearman's rank correlation test. A significance level of 0.05 was chosen. Results The value of VAS score varied from the text items,One item had 90 (1/17),one 20 (1/17),two lower than 60 (2/17),two higher than 80 (2/17) .others from 60 to 80 (11/17). There is no significant correlation between the only one text item and others (P>0.05).There is significant correlation between other text items and correlation coefficient was from 0.334 to 0.719 (P<0.01). Conclusion The affect of text variable on readability of the informed consent for tooth extraction has been observed.关键词
