Abstract

The dynamic changes of polyphenols in the growth process of different flue - cured tobacco varieties were analyzed, and the polyphenol contents in the flue - cured leaves of different flue - cured tobacco varieties were compared. The results showed that the polyphenol content increased slowly with the increase of leaf age as a whole, but the variation trend of polyphenol content was different among different varieties. The polyphenol content in the flue - cured leaf was obviously higher than that before baking. The chlo-rogenic acid content in the leaf of NC89 changed like " M" shape, and it reached peak value at the leaf age of 40 days. Hongda leaf' s chlorogenic acid content showed the changeable trend of " small rising - small decreasing - large rising" , and it was the maximum at the leaf age of 70 days. K326 leaf's chlorogenic acid content was nearly stable at the total growing stage. The rutin content in the leaf of NC89 changed like "M" shape, but that of K326 revealed the changeable trend of "N" shape. Hongda leaf' s rutin content showed the variation trend of "continuous and rapid rising - rapid decline- rapid increasing". The total polyphenol content in the flue - cured leaves of different flue - cured tobacco varieties had the following sequence: Hongda > NC89 > K326, while there was little difference in total polyphenol content between NC89 and K326. The rutin content in the leaf of K326 was the highest, and the aromatic value of different flue -cured tobacco varieties showed the following order; Hongda > NC89 > K326.
