Abstract

The absorption efficiency of CO2 into the aqueous solution of tetraethylenetetramine ( TEPA) + N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) under a certain total concentration of amines was investigated. The relations of tail gas mole fraction, absorption rate, absorption capacity and absorption time were studied. The activities of diethylenetriamine ( DETA) , triethylenetetramine (TETA) and TEPA for CO2 absorption were also compared. The decarburization capacity of the three enamines was investigated when regeneration existed. The results indicate that the absorption capacity of TEPA + MDEA is enhanced by increasing the concentration of TEPA. The absorption rate and capacity of amines containing TEPA as activator are higher than those with TETA and DETA. The decarburization capacity of TEPA + MDEA is also better than the other two enamines blending with MDEA when absorption and regeneration are carried out synchronously.
