摘要

Abstract

The need for diffusion barriers between the thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) and nickel base superalloy is introduced. The design and development of diffusion barriers are reviewed. It emphasizes to discuss the performance of these diffusion barriers such as noble metal, rare metal, compound-forming metal and ceramic diffusion barrier etc. Meanwhile, the deposition technology, inhibition effect and application field of the diffusion barrier are also described and compared. It is pointed out that the multi-layer diffusion barriers have great potential for novel TBCs with long service life. Finally, the problems about the adhesion of diffusion barrier between TBCs and substrate are brought forward.
