Abstract

[Objective]The present experiment was conducted to investigate suitable sowing dates for super rice in order to regulate the growth duration of first and ratoon croppings of rice and rape. [Method ]The super rice variety Zhongzheyou 1 was used to compare the morphological and economical characteristics of first and ratoon crops for super rice sown on different sowing dates (19*, 24* and 29* March and 3rd and 8* April) in Rongshui and Sanjiang counties. [Result]The results showed that the leaf-age, basal seedlings, max seedlings and effective panicles of first cropping increased with the delay of sowing dates for 5 days, while the panicle setting rate, grains per panicle, full grains per panicle and yield were decreased. The initial heading stage, full heading stage and maturity stage of first cropping also delayed for 1-4 days and the whole growth period shortened by 1-4 days. The growth duration was also delayed in ratoon cropping and most of the characteristics worsened. Under suitable climatic conditions, the stubble of ratoon rice should be kept higher to elongate growth period for getting high yield. [ Conclusion ]The suitable sowing date for super rice planting areas with 140-250 m elevation ranged from 19-24 March and may be delayed, and the stubble height of ratoon cropping kept higher to get higher yield.
