Method of decreasing node power consumption in IEEE 802.15.4 networks based on reduced overhearing

Abstract
Aiming at the problem of node' s energy waste because of the idle overhearing existed in IEEE 802. 15.4 MAC,this paper proposed a method that node converting into sleep mode timely in CAP to decreasing node power consumption based on the reduced overhearing. Then established a Markov chain model and carried out the mathematical derivation for the model. Furthermore,carried out the numerical analysis of the node average power consumption. Finally, the theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the model reduces the node average energy consumption and the time of idle overhearing effective ly , and improves effectively the performance of protocol.关键词
