The Relationships of Forest Fire with Temprature and Precipitation in China and Its Spatial-temporal Variability

摘要

Abstract

[Objective] The aim was to discuss the relationships between forest fire and meterological elements (precipitation and temprature) in each region in China. [Method] Firstly, the average precipitation and temperature in forest areas of each province in fire season were obtained based on the observed meterological data, forest distribution data, seseanal and monthly distribution of forest fire in China. Secondly, the relationships of forest fire area with precipitation and temperature were discussed by means of temporal and correlation analysis. [ Result ] The results showed that the temporal changes of precipitation and temperature could well reflect the annual variation of fire area, namely forest fire area went up with the decrease of precipitation and increase of temprature, and visa versa. Meanwhile, there existed diffirences in the relationship in various legions over time. Correlation analyses revealed that there was positive correlation between forest fire area and temperature, especailly Northwest China (R =0. 367, P < 0.01) , Southwest China (R =0. 327, P < 0. 05) , South China (R = 0. 33, P<0. 05) , East China (R =0.516, P<0.01)and Xinjiang (R = 0.447, P<0. 05). Meanwhile, The correlation between forest fire area and precipitation was significantly positive in Northwest China (R = 0.482, P<0.01) , while significantly negaive in South China (R= -0.323, P=0.03), and there was no significant correlation in other regions. [Conclusion] Relationships between forest fire and melerologic elements (precipitation and temprature) revealed in the study could be useful for the forest fire prevention and early warning in China.
