Abstract

This paper analyzes the breaking process of the hybrid circuit breaker (HCB) with vacuum interrupter and SF6 interrupter in series,and discusses the synergy of vacuum interrupter and SF6 interrupter in improving breaking capacity. The requirements of the hybrid circuit breaker for its actuator control mechanism are also analyzed considering the capacity improvement mechanism of the circuit breaker. Moreover, an experimental model of the hybrid circuit breaker is designed based on fiber-controlled vacuum circuit breaker module and SF6 circuit breaker module in series. The experimental model adopts permanent-magnetic operation mechanism to control the coordination of vacuum interrupter and SF6 interrupter, leading to a better breaking property of the hybrid circuit breaker.
