Synthesis and tribological properties of surface - modified CeF3 nanoparticles

Abstract
Stearic acid modified CeF3 nanoparticles were synthesized by precipitation method. The dispersibility and stability of nanoparticles additives in solvent were studied. The morphology of nanoparticles were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The tribological properties of the modified CeF3 nanoparticles as additives in liquid paraffin were examined with four-ball machine. The results showed that the modified CeF3 nanoparticles exhibit good dispersity and stability in the organic solvent, and showed very good anti-wear properties and load-carrying capacity.关键词
