Abstract
Based on the panel data of urban across regions of Shanxi during the period of 2000 ~ 2007, a stochastic translog production frontier was specified to estimate urban land efficiency, which was estimated as input - oriented technical efficiency of a single input. The main input - oriented urban land technical efficiency is 0. 7281, the result indicated that the observed quantity of urban output could have been maintained by using the observed values of other inputs while using 27. 19% less of urban land. Thus the key to ease the demand - supply contradiction of urban land resources in Shanxi province is to optimize urban land allocation and improve urban land efficiency.关键词
