Abstract

When the construction of a certain metro shield tunnel under-passing Shanghai-Nanjing intercity railway was in process in Suzhou, the settlement produced by the conventional grouting foundation reinforcement couldn't meet the requirements of intercity railway. Accordingly, combined with the original reinforcement measures, board-pile composite structure was adopted to strengthen the foundation. Two-dimensional finite element method was adopted for this scheme to analyze the law of ground settlement under different stress release ratio caused by shield tunnel excavation. When the stress release ratio was 30%, the entire settlement of the board-pile composite structure was 3. 9 mm, which met the requirements of post-construction settlement for high-speed ballastless track. However, the strengthening board of the board-pile composite structure would be detached from the soil mass beneath. Consequently, three-dimensional finite element method was used to analyze the static and dynamic stress response of the track structure of high-speed railway. Results show that when the strengthening board is detached from the soil body beneath, the maximum deformation of the rail surface caused by gravity stress is 0. 582 mm, which meets the requirements of track irregularity. Under the action of the maximum train dynamic load, the maximum tensile stress of the track slab and the strengthening board is 0. 93 and 1. 02 Mpa respectively. Both are less than the correction values of the fatigue strength required in the norm. Therefore, during the construction of shield tunnel under-passing railway, the reinforcement measure of board-pile composite structure for the foundation of intercity railway can guarantee operation safety.
