Application of PIV and Transparent Soil in the Study of the Dynamic Soil-Structure Interaction
摘要
Abstract
In order to measure and observe the deformation inside the soil mass, the emerging new experimental technology such as transparent soil and image optics have become the important research tools in the geomechanics research field. The dynamic properties of transparent soil obtained through a series of resonant column/torsional shear tests show that they are similar with the natural soil to some extent. Thus, it can be used as the substitute for the natural soil in the dynamic tests. Furthermore more, the work principle of Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) in measuring soil deformation and a camera calibration method based on the neural network are briefly introduced. The transparent soil and PIV are applied together to investigate the dynamic interaction between a rigid block and the transparent soil in two small scale shake table tests. The result shows that transparent soil and PIV are an important research tool in the dynamic soil-structure interaction field.关键词
