摘要

Abstract

Based on the data of 6 pieces of field immersion test sites and the laboratory test data, judging methods for thickness of collapsible loess under overburden pressure is discussed. The results show that: the maximum depth of collapsible loess under overburden pressure is a determined and unique value. Caused by influences of stress state, deformation conditions, saturation, specimens size, boundary effects and other factors, the results of laboratory tests are different with the results of field immersion test, the former are always bigger than the latter. So, judgment of thickness of collapsible loess under overburden should accord to the results of field test. Laboratory test method needs further improvement.
