Trimming voltage to reduce power consumption by smart-grid
摘要
Abstract
An US experience of trimming voltage to reduce power consumption was introduced. This new conservation technology has passed more than ten years of basic research and device tests. It is now in the phase of industrial application. It offers utilities a big conservation opportunity with Smart-Grid support, and could reduce nation' s power consumption by 3%, which is the equivalent of all refrigerators consumption in US. The Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR) reduce the strong magnetic field which throwing energy away by lower customer side voltage. It is especially effective for induction motors used in dozens of electric devices. Trimming voltage could reduce power consumption, and consumers need not lift a finger.关键词
