摘要

Abstract

The formation pressure-bearing capacity is the comprehensive reflection of structural integrity and strength of formation, working fluid property and the interaction between formation and working fluid. This paper analyzed the geological and engineering factors affecting the pressure-bearing capacity, discussed the enhancing methods from physics, chemistry and mechanics point of views and their applicability in different cases. Successful cases were given in this paper, and the research results showed that increasing hoop stress and fracture propagation pressure are the major ways to enhance pressure-bearing capacity. It is essential to maintain the stability of the fracture system to guarantee the validity of the enhancement. It is suggested that more work should be done on the evaluation and prediction of formation pressure-bearing capacity of multi-scale structure, and attention should be paid on the development of high performance materials to greatly enhance the rock mass structural strength.
