摘要

Abstract

By means of the centrifugal casting method, high speed steel (HSS) rollers with excellent wear resistance have been successfully manufactured. The main compositions of HSS rollers are 1.5%~2.0% C, 3.0%~5.0% Mo, 1.0%~3.0% W, 2.0%~3.0% V, 1.0%~2.0% Co, 1.0%~2.5% B and 5. 0% ~8. 0%Cr. The hardness of HSS roller is 85~88 HS, the range of hardness variation is smaller than 2. 0 HS and the impact toughness excels 10.0 J/cm2. The wear rate of HSS rollers reaches 2.33 × 10-4mm per ton steel using in the pre-finishing stands of highspeed hot wire-rod rolling mill. Furthermore, the manufacturing cost of HSS rolls is obviously lower than that of PM hard alloy rollers, it is only 32 percent of that of PM hard alloy rollers.
