猪链球菌2型生物被膜的生物学特性研究
Characterization of biofilm formation by Streptococcus suis type 2

Abstract
In this work, biofilm quantification of Streptococcus suis type 2 (SS2) were evaluated by 96-well microtiter plate assays. The results showed that the significant biofilms were formed completely after 60 hours incubation by 3 out of 15 SS2 strains, and the capacity of biofilm formation was influenced by the concentration of glucose in the medium. Exopolysaccharide content in the biofilm was higher than those produced by the planktonic cells. The resistance of biofilm-grown bacteria to ampicillin or amoxicillin was 2500 times more than that of planktonic bacteria. Scanning electron microscopy revealed a dense biofilm structure formed by S. Suis. The investigation about the formation of 5. Suis biofilm will provide the basis for further research on pathogenic mechanism and removal of biofilm.关键词
