摘要

Abstract

An experimental structure which can adjust the installation positions of the impeller and the volute was devised to investigate the effect of relative impeller-to-volute position on the performance of a multi-blade centrifugal fan which is widely used in the terminal unites of central air conditioning. The results show that the coincident position between the impeller center and the volute geometric center was not conducive to the performance of this test fan. An optimum relative impeller-to-volute position can enhance the volume flow rate and the total efficiency of the fan by 6.08% and 2.4% each, while the sound pressure level was decreased by 0.8dB(A).
