摘要

Abstract

There are lots of difficulties for large scale underwater sensor networks to achieve perfect localisation performance using the localising approach based on static beacons, since the networks cover a great deal of wide areas and inspect in big depth. In this paper the authors propose a new range-free localisation method based on mobile beacons. The beacons broadcast their position information when moving upwards and downwards,and the nodes estimate the range of positions by the variation of beacons' information. The mobile beacons extend the coverage area of the networks while decrease the communication distances among the nodes. Experimental results show that the method can attain the localisation precision approximating that of the localisation method of multi-power transmission with lower system cost, and its precision is also higher than general range-free localisation methods.
