Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI) Short Form in college students

Abstract
Objective: To assess the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI) Short Form in college students. Method: Totally 467 college students were selected by convenience sampling form 8 universities and were assessed with the TAI Short Form, full TAI, Test Anxiety Scale (TAS) and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). The data was analyzed for item analysis, internal consistency analysis, convergent validity, divergent validity, and construct validity. After a week, the participants (n =402) were assessed with the TAI Short Form to test the test-retest reliability. Results: The correlation coefficient of Chinese version of TAI between items and total score were from 0.71 to 0. 80 (Ps < 0.001). The internal consistency reliability (Cron-bach a) was 0. 81. The 1-week test- retest reliability was 0. 81 (P <0.001). The correlation coefficient among TAI Short Form and the total score of TAI, TAS and STAI were 0.76,0.93 and 0.58 (Ps < 0.001). Exploratory Factor Analysis indicated that only 1 factor was extracted and explained variance was 58.9%. Factor loading ranged be-tween 0.65 and 0. 83. Conclusion: The Chinese version of Test Anxiety Inventory Short Form has good reliability and validity in Chinese college students.关键词
