Abstract
Objective: To discuss the feasibility and experience of transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy in primary hospital. Methods: The operative experience and clinical data of 51 patients undergoing transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy were retrospectively analyzed. Results:48 patients accepted successful transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy and were satisfied with the therapeutic and cosmetic result. 1 patient was converted to laparotomy because of appendix root gangrene and perforation, and additional incision was made in 2 cases for drainage. No complications occurred in the 48 patients who underwent transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy. Conclusions: Transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy is safe and feasible and with dramatically cosmetic result. This procedure is more difficult than traditional laparoscopic appendectomy. Correct operative principle must be followed and timely conversion to open surgery or normal laparoscopic surgery should be guaranteed.关键词
