Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy of Huoxue capsule in ovariectomized rats and investigate its mechanism. Methods The female Wistar ovariectomized (OVX) rats were randomized into two groups with treatment of Huoxue capsule and Diethylstilbestrol tablets, which were compared with OVX group and pseudo-operated group. All rats were killed after giving medicine for 12 weeks. The level of E2, FSH, LH, ALP, Ca, P in serum and Ca, P in bone were determined. Results The levels of FSH, LH, ALP, Ca, P in serum of OVX rats were significantly higher and E2 was lower than pseudo-operated group (P<0.05, P<0.01). Huoxue capsule decreased the levels of FSH, LH, ALP, Ca, P in serum, and increased the level of E2 in serum and Ca, P in bone of OVX rats compared with OVX group (P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusions Huoxue capsule can treat postmenopausal osteoporosis by adjusting the level of female sex homone and bone metabolism.关键词
