Experience and Understanding of Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring in Our Hospitals

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To summarize the experience and understanding of adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring in our hospital, and to promote safe and rational use of drugs in second-level hospitals. METHODS: ADR reports and quality indicators of ADR monitoring in our hospital from 2005 - 2009 were analyzed retrospectively as well as the effect of measures taken to improve the work of ADR monitoring. RESULTS: Our hospital established monitoring organization and monitoring network. ADR monitoring was also included in performance evaluation of department. Multiple-level training and propaganda were developed to improve the quality of ADR reports. ADR monitoring was considered as clinical service. Hospital network reporting system was developed and some measures of simplifying reporting procedure were put forwards. By taking all kinds of measures, the quantity and quality of ADR reports increased year by year, and the safe and rational drug use was also promoted in hospital. CONCLUSIONS: According to own situation of hospital and the characteristics of ADR monitoring at different stages, effective management and promotion measures can stimulate the conduct and progress of ADR monitoring.关键词
