Abstract
Objective To review the diagnosis and treatment of parathyroid adenoma complicated with primary hyperparathyroidism. Methods The clinical data of 2 cases of parathyroid adenoma complicated with primary hyperparathyroidism in East Hospital, Tongji University were retrospectively reviewed. Results The diagnosis of 2 patients was confirmed by operation and pathology. There were bone pathologic changes of varying extent and increased serum levels of calcium. Ultrasonography and CT scan were performed to obtain accurate diagnosis and lesion localization before operation. Minimally invasive parathyroidectomy was successfully completed and the primary operation cure rate was 100%. At postoperative the symptoms and signs were all relieved to varying extents, the laboratory results returned to normal, and there was no permanent hypoparathyroidism or recurrent nerve injury and other complications. Conclusion Early diagnosis and early surgical treatment for parathyroid adenoma complicated with primary hyperparathyroidism can prevent severe bone changes and deformity effectively.关键词
