摘要

Abstract

The 14-3-3 protein family in eukaryotic cells is widely expressed and highly conservative. It was reported that 14-3-3 proteins were associated with the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, neuron protection, Parkinson's disease, bronchial asthma, and so on. In recent years, more and more studies focus on the relationship between 14-3-3 proteins and cancers. 14-3-3 Proteins were involved in multiple common cancers such as liver cancer, lung cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, esopha-geal cancer, gastric cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, etc. The effects of 14-3-3 proteins on proliferation , metastasis, apoptosis, and resistance of cancer cells had been confirmed and a part of mechanisms had been elucidated. The family of mammalian 14-3-3 protein has 7 isoforms :β,ε,γ,η,θ,T and ξ ( σ ) . Different 14-3-3 isoforms display different tissue localization and function. In this article, the activities of 14-3-3 isoforms in different tumor cells were summarized. The possible regulatory mechanisms of 14-3-3 in cancer were discussed. Clarification of the tissue distribution and function of 14-3-3 isoforms may help us to explore a new effective approach for cancer therapy.
