Advances in tissue culture of Liriodendron
摘要
Abstract
In recent years, the demand of Liriodendron seedlings in China is enhanced significantly. Due to asynchronized flowering, lower germination rate of seeds, and difficult cutting-grafting propagation, the rapid propagation using tissue culture techniques became an important approach to produce plantlets of Liriodendron. The research progresses in tissue culture techniques used for Liriodendro plants, e.g., screening explants, primary culture and subculture, culture medium, hormone, culture conditions and somatic embryogenesis were summarized in the current paper. The existing problems and countermeasures also were discussed in the paper. The emphasis has been given on future studies involving the techniques to overcome difficulties in rooting and browning during the process of tissue culture in Liriodendron, and development of efficient protoplast culture and genetic transformation system. The germplasm protection of Liriodendron plants using tissue culture technology should be studied to provide technological support for germplasm resource utilization and help in breeding of new varieties.关键词
