夏季南海北部水体中颗粒有机碳的分布特征
Distribution of Particulate Organic Carbon(POC)in Seawater of the Northern South China Sea in Summer

Abstract
The particulate organic carbon (POC) in the surface seawater of northern South China Sea during August and September 2008 is investigated. The results show that the POC ranges from 37μg/l to 330μg/l. Horizontally, the highest POC occurs in the coastal waters of South China where receive terrestrial organic matter via the runoff of the Pearl River; the seawater POC in the northern Central Basin of the South China Sea is largely controlled by phytoplankton; and the POC in upwelling area off eastern Hainan Island and Luzon Strait is partly influenced by terrestrial organic matter. Vertically, the POC concentrations of the seawater below 10m along the coast of South China are generally consistent, and show a decreasing trend from surface down to 100 m in upwelling area off eastern Hainan, northern Central Basin of the South China Sea and the Luzon Strait. Due to the influences from sediment resuspension and water mass mixture, the POC concentrations in water depth between 100 and 200 m in eastern Hainan upwelling area and Luzon Strait are not stable.关键词
