Numerical Research on a Full-scale Masonry Building Retrofitted by External Precast Structure

Abstract
Numerical simulation of a full-scale masonry building strengthened by external prefabricated structure is carried out. The results show that seismic response of original masonry building is mitigated effectively after reinforcement. The strengthen technology has achieved good effects. Prefabricated technology is applied in external structure. The precast structural elements include reinforced concrete panels, balcony slabs et al. Different prefabricated panels are welded together through angle steel and shear lug, which is utilized to strengthen the transversal walls of masonry building. Shear lugs are installed between masonry walls and precast reinforced concrete walls to retrofit the longitudinal wall. Dynamic response of reinforced masonry building is analyzed through ABAQUS. The results show that the base shear forces of longitudinal and transverse direction are undertook all mostly by external structure. The base shear forces of masonry building are reduced greatly. Aseismic capability of original masonry building is enhanced effectively.关键词
