摘要

Abstract

A solar powered battery charger was introduced in this paper, which gave the user the choice of charging either lithium or nickel based batteries. The output of solar panels was converted into a stable voltage to power the charging unit MAX1501 by using the step-down switching regulator LT1777. The control function of the whole system was implemented with the microcontroller PIC16F877A. The design has broad application prospects due to its low cost and high efficiency.
