Abstract
A simulated distillation method was proposed to obtain the boiling range of high temperature coal tar by using TG analyzer. Some compounds in the coal tar, namely naphthalene, 2-methylnaphthalene, biphenyl, fluorene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene and pyrene, were used as samples and their toluene solutions were prepared. The TG experiments were carried out and the temperature corresponding to the maximum mass loss rate of the sample-toluene solution was defined as TG apparent boiling point of the sample. The relationship between the boiling point and the TG apparent boiling point was studied and the linear equation was found. The effects of TG heating rate and sample content in toluene on the linear equation were discussed. The influence of the sample content on the linear equation was little. Low heating rate was beneficial to good linear relationship. The linear relationship between boiling point and TG apparent boiling point can be applied to determine the distillation range of high temperature coal tar or residual oil by TG analysis. The method is simple and convenient with high precision.关键词
