Abstract
Based on the actual situation and multifunctionality of agriculture in Inner'Mongolia, this paper discussed a new understanding about the position of agriculture as the foundation in the new era of Inner Mongolia from ensuring national food security, ecological security, border stability, national unity, social stability and other aspects. The value of agricultural multifunctionality in Inner Mongolia was 1. 433 76 trillion yuan,and was decreased to 0. 75477 trillion yuan when people's willingness to pay was considered. The value of ecological function and social function accounted for 89. 3% of total agricultural function value. The value of multifunctional agriculture was 9. 82 times of the output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in 2008. Developing and implementing a comprehensive and proper multifunctional agriculture co-ordination strategy was suggested to realize agricultural and rural sustainable development in Inner Mongolia.关键词
